Incident Summary
Officer dispatched to an unwelcome who had locked himself inside the business restroom and refused to come out.
Officers obtained PPA for trespassing and upon contacting subject, he became violently combative. Officers used bodily
force and the carotid restraint to gain compliance.
Suspect suffered no injury from encounter. He did have two small abrasions on his left cheek that were present prior to
the use of force.
One officer was punched but with no visible injuries.
Photos taken of officers, scene, and suspect.
No video inside business where UOF occurred.
One witness statement taken.
Suspect was agitated, refused to speak regarding incident, and what he said during contact was incoherent and
nonsensical.
WC Coy was advised of incident. IA was notified of pre-existing injury to suspect's cheek.
Subject was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest.
In my opinion, this use of force was reasonable, effective, and within policy.
