Property Report - Evidence
I, Sergeant P. Munson #5932 (3S26), assisted Officer D. Evans #5569 (3B52) who advised he had a use-of-force
at Orange Avenue, (Call #554). The suspect was transported to Lakewood Regional Hospital by the
Long Beach Fire Department. I met the suspect in the Emergency Room, and there he told me the following:
Munson: I'm Sergeant Munson with the Long Beach Police Department. We are at Lakewood Regional Hospital.
What is your name?
Suspect:
Munson: can you tell me what happened today when the officers contacted you?
Suspect: Two of 'em came in, nice as possible. They told me to get my stuff to leave. So I grabbed my stuff to
leave. And I was puttin' it outside. Then when I had everything out. Then one of them came out and was like,
well, you know you got a warrant. We could take you to jail. Said ok, but, I'm leavin' already.
Munson: Do you remember which officer that was? I'm sorry to interrupt.
Suspect: No Sir.
Munson: Was he White, Black, or Hispanic?
Suspect: He was. I don't wanna be. He looked, he seemed Hispanic, he looked Hispanic.
Munson: Ok, was he heavy set, or skinny?
Suspect: Heavy set.
Munson: Was it this officer here that sat with you and read you your rights?
Suspect: Yes, just now.
Munson: That's the same officer who told you you had a warrant?
Suspect: No.

Narrative
Munson: It was a different officer. This is Officer Ornelas.
Suspect: That's the nice officer right there.
Munson: Ok, but you don't remember the name of this officer who told you you had a warrant.
Suspect: He just told me he could take me to jail. And I'm leaving now. He was like, but if you come back and I'll
take you to jail. I said, well, tell her because she's going to call me back. And he smacked his teeth and grabbed
my arm. And I'm like, what you doing? You going to jail. I'm like, no I'm not. Because I know you supposed to
be read your rights. So I said, no I'm not. But I'm not for sure if like, if I'm putting up a fight, he read me my rights,
so, no, I'm not under arrest. And then the other officers came and I said I'll let them arrest me, but I don't want
you arresting me. And he told me I don't have a choice. And he kept trying to bend my arm around. I said can
you stop bending my arm. I'll let your other partners do it. They have my other arm. I just want you to let go.
And it got to a point where he pushed me to the window. So I pushed back from the window. And when the
officer said, we could go over the rail. When I stopped pushing, they pushed me into the house. I fell. And then, I
got tazed. And then that's all. And after that, I just let, and they told, no he kept tazing me. And I told him like,
they told me to stop resisting. I told him I can't stop resisting because every time you get tazed your body lock up.
So while he trying to put my arm back, my body locked up, and it make like I was resisting again, and so he
tased me again. And I said stop tazing me. My arm, like, I released my arm. So when he stopped tazing me my
arm dropped and they arrested me.
Munson: How many times did you get tazed?
Suspect: About three or four times.
Munson: What else happened?
Suspect: That's it, they laid me down on the floor. And that was just it.
Munson: Nothing else happened?
Suspect: Uh uh.
Munson: Alright. Thank you for your statement.
Suspect: Thank you.
I later burned a copy of the digital recording to disc and booked the disc into evidence.
