ANALYSIS REQUESTED: Function and Test Fire NIBIN
Examination and analysis were made of the below listed evidence received from the Long Beach Police Department
Firearms Laboratory on 6/24/15 consisting of:
Tag 832760 – sealed box containing evidence collected from Long Beach Blvd.
Item 4 – Pistol, Beretta model 950BS, caliber 25 Auto SN: (Six (6),Right)
Tag 832706 – sealed box containing evidence collected from Long Beach Blvd.
Item 5 – Revolver, Colt model Detective Special, caliber 38 Special SN: (Six (6), Left)
Analysis:
Item 4 and Item 5 were operational and test fired. The Forensic Science Services Division will retain all test-
fired cartridge cases and bullets under tag 835452 and 835454, respectively.
Conclusions:
I entered a representative test-fired cartridge case from Item 4 of DR 150029066 into the cartridge case
database screening system (NIBIN), and no correlations to previously entered cases were noted.
I entered representative test-fired bullets from Item 5 of DR 150029066 into the bullet database screening
system (NIBIN), and no correlations to previously entered cases were noted.
The above conclusions include my opinions and interpretations.
